SIMPKINS RECITAL HALL
Western Illinois University
Macomb, Illinois
Simpkins Hall was designed as an auditorium and was built in 1937 through a Work Projects Administration (WPA) grant. For the latter half of the 20th Century, Simpkins Hall served as a gymnasium for an ROTC Program.
In 2001, Simpkins Hall was retrofitted from a gymnasium to a recital hall for the Western Illinois University’s College of Fine Arts and Communication.
The Recital Hall features a stage, seating, and operational space, including a green room, box office, coatroom, restrooms, rehearsal space and storage rooms.
