CHARLES SQUARE CENTER, Prague, Czech Republic
Charles Square Center is a mixed-use building located on Charles Square, in the heart of historic Prague, built directly above an existing metro station. The building features a glass-enclosed atrium that serves the retail floors and encourages foot traffic from the Metro station. Raised floors and advanced building systems offer tenants state-of-the-art office space. The structural engineering design integrates the structure with an existing below-grade Metro train station. Careful consideration was given to preserving the character of the existing station and re-use of the existing foundation mat.
Koz Sowlat served as chief structural engineer.
